Why HAIS exists
Across many high-stakes care systems, people are often asked to make urgent decisions with incomplete information, under pressure, without a clear sense of what to expect or what to ask. HAIS exists to close that gap: building practical, evidence-informed tools — starting with HAIS-Vet — without replacing professional judgment, regulatory bodies, or legal advice.
Our approach
Every HAIS program follows the same method: identify a real, evidenced gap in a system; build a plain-language tool grounded in that sector's own published standards; test it with the people who'll actually use it; and measure whether it changes confidence and outcomes over time.
Our History
HAIS began with a single, difficult experience of veterinary care, one that revealed how easily a pet owner can be left without clear information or a clear path forward. HAIS-Vet became the first program built to close that gap.
Governance
HAIS is currently an independent, founder-led educational initiative in the process of formalizing as a Canadian not-for-profit organization.
